The main focus of this newest installment centers on the town's retirement community named Whisper's Edge. It is a struggling community, suffering from hard economic times as well as neglect by the previous owners. When the residents find that the community has a new owner they feel as if their prayers have been answered. Unbeknownst to them, the new owner, Tristan McMillan only sees dollar signs, and plans to sell the community for a profit.
The book begins as Tristan is arriving at Whisper's Edge to take a look at his new investment. Hearing a commotion by the pool, he goes there to find the community's social director, Savannah Perry splashing around in the water trying to rescue one of the resident's dog. Thinking that she is drowning, Tristan quickly jumps in to save her. After her pulls both the dog and Savannah to safety, he finds out that Savannah could indeed swim and that the whole rescue was a misunderstanding. And when Tristan introduces himself as the new owner of the property, Savannah is mortified, thinking that she will be fired. But Tristan laughs off the misunderstanding, and assures her that her job is intact.
This begins the charming tale of a quaint Southern town and it's quirky senior inhabitants. It is also a sweet romantic comedy as well. I have no doubt that you too will be captivated by all of the endearing characters of this book. As you come to know Savannah, her boss Kate, Tristan, Ben, the community's handyman, and the rest of the residents of Whisper's Edge, you will be hoping for that Happily Ever After just like I did. You will be pulled in by the budding romances of not only Savannah and Tristan, but also of Kate and Ben.
I so enjoyed this sweet story, and I found myself smiling often as I read it. And being a fan of Southern romantic comedies, I will definitely be adding LuAnn McClane to my list of author's to follow.
