Not because of the leukemia thing, but because the main characters were twins. I am a twin and would be crushed if my twin died. This book is heart-wrenching and full of spirit. It is well written and full of hope and family. I really enjoyed it and got a good cry from it. It is because of this book that I made my own time capsule. It actually tells you in the back of the book how to make a time capsule yourself and it really helpful.
This book is by far my favorite by this author. The Time Capsule leads you through the charactors lives and the emotional stress that comes with Adams illness. It also shows how somthing so tragic can bring a broken family back togeather. The relationship between Alexis and Adam is strong, this comes from the fact that they arnt just brother and sister but twins with a very close relationship. The timecapsule ceremony plays a huge part in the story because it takes them back to when their lives were simple, easy and care free. That was before Adam got sick and their worlds turned up-side-down. The Time Capsule is remarkably written, the author Lurlene McDaniel wrote this book from the heart. Through the Chappel familys pain they realixe just how important family is. This book is one of a kind MUST READ.
Reminded of what life was once like by the opening of a first-grade time capsule, seventeen-year-old Alexis now faces the pressures of senior year in high school, her parents' total focus on work, and the recurrence of her twin brother's leukemia. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
