It had its differences though. In this book, Trembling goes for three different sundays to church and in a different beautiful gown each time. Everyone stares at this beautiful strange woman, curious who she is. Every prince goes to see this woman on the third sunday. As she leaves the church, one prince takes off her shoe and then goes on a search to find who the shoe fits. It fits Trembling and then the princes fight for her but only one wins and they marry and have 14 children. The two mean sisters are never seen again. This book was like any other fairytale. It ended with a happy ending. ( ) Its about a girl named Trembling that lived with her step sisters and had to clean a house like for them. She wanted to go to church so her fairy godmother help her look beautiful. I like this book book because it was really different from the original story that everyone knows. I also like how they use the church instead of the ball to find the ball. I would use this book in my classroom because to show the kids that everyone tells a different story of Cinderella or any other story. I would say that this book would good for students between the ages of four and sixth. In a unique take on the classic Cinderella tale, the Cinderella of this Irish folktale is Trembling. The text was very descriptive, I think kids would be able to easily picture everything described even without the aid of the illustrations. I think this is the closest a picture book can come to keeping with oral tradition. I can easily see this being remembered and passed down word from word. It's the perfect story to read aloud. Summary: Trembling was the youngest daughter in her house. Her two sisters Fair and Brown always went to church with new dresses. But they left Trembling at home did the cooking because she was too beautiful. One day, a henwife came and repaid for Trembling's kindness by her magic. A splendid dress and a milk-white mare appeared after the henwife muttered a few strange words. Everyone in the church couldn't stop to stare at Trembling's beautiful face when she showed up in the church. After several weeks, princes from many countries came to that church hoping for marrying her. But every time, she rode so fast that none could catch her. However, the prince of Emania pulled off her tiny slipper when she was ridding. Then the prince of Emania went around the town finding Trembling. Finally, he found her on the hill of Erin and married her. Genre: folklore This is the Irish Cinderella told by Irish people. Uses: 1. Teachers can ask students compare Trembling with other versions of Cinderella, to find what are the differences. 2. There are a lot of descriptions about the colors of Trembling's dresses, for example, milk-white, as white as snow, rose-red. Teachers can point one of the dresses of Trembling, and ask them how to describe the colors. Media: crayon and watercolor aucune critique | ajouter une critique
