They do seem doable though. ( ) This was a difficult book to review. A copy was sent to me from Running Press for review. Let me start by sharing their description: For those blessed with a sense of humor, DANCING WITH JESUS: Featuring a Host of Miraculous Moves is a godsend. Singing hymns of praise is standard practice. Now it’s time to set your feet a-tapping with a collection of original dance moves inspired by Jesus and the likes of Moses and John the Baptist. Slyly irreverent but ultimately festive, this mirthful (and myrrhful) title seamlessly combines references to biblical dogma with ridiculous dance. Best of all, two of the dances are animated for full effect by a lenticular cover and a last-spread finale, making this a truly one-of-a-kind novelty item. Throw your hands up in the air to raise the dead and the roof! And then repent—I mean, repeat. As an atheist, I was unsure just how to take this. Would Christians be offended? Then I saw the lenticular cover...and Jesus is doing the Carleton. (Go here and see for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS1cLOIxsQ8 ) That alone makes the book for me. The art is a classic animation style, exactly like old bible cartoons. And somewhat like the Star Trek cartoon. I will not spoil the rest of the book, but will mention there is a dance called "The Judas Hustle". I can't recommend a buy (especially at a $12.95 price) unless you are a hardcore Christian or Fresh Prince of Bel Aire fan. But it is amusing. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Are you cursed with two left feet? Are your dance moves unrighteous? Do you refrain from getting down lest others judge you cruelly? Fear not. Salvation is at hand. Singing hymns of praise is standard practice-now it's time to set your feet a-tapping with a collection of original dance moves inspired by Jesus and the likes of Moses and John the Baptist. Dances include: the Water Walk, the Temptation Tango, the Judas Hustle, and The Apostolic Conga. Each dance move is outlined with: how to, inspiration, and an illustration. Slyly irreverent but ultimately festive, Dancing with Jesus is illustrated in full color. Best of all, two of the dances are animated for full effect by a lenticular cover and last-spread finale, making this a truly one-of-a-kind novelty item! As the Bible says in Ecclesiastes, there is, "A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to dance." Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
