Two single young adults, one a toy shop owner, Dale, and the other, Vic, a High School teacher. An undefined menace is killing people in Oxrun Station. The police chief is either in on it or an idiot always getting in the way. Its going to be up to Dale and Vic to solve this thing and save the station. Hey this plot looks familiar. Where did I see it? Of course, in the first (and previous) Oxrun Station novel: Hour of the Oxrun Dead. Too bad they didn't consult Marc and Nat Clayton.

Now I'm a firm believer in sticking with a winning formula (it worked for the Ramones for decades) as long as its not sticking with the exact same novel twice - in a row! He could have at least waited a while before recycling the exact same plot.

Here the menace is a little weaker than Oxrun Dead, but the overall novel is slightly better in my opinion. Dale and Vic are of course lovable. Again there is a whole cast of two dimensional characters nobody cares about to drive the plot.

This, like Oxrun Dead, is good for a one evening read and into the bin (or to the used book store so I can buy it). Grant is actually a decent writer who won't insult your intelligence. ( )
