Kami and Jared have shared thoughts since they were born, but neither knows the other actually exists. They--and everyone else--assumes they have imaginary friends. They finally meet in the first book of the Lynburn Legacy, [b:Unspoken|13588308|Unspoken|Lisa Jackson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1355048645s/13588308.jpg|533150], in which their childhood telepathy turns out to be just one facet of a much larger and darker magical web. This is a short story set before they meet, when Jared still assumes he's mad with only his imagination for company. Told from the point-of-view of a guidance counselor at his school, this made me like Jared a lot more (when he's in a book with Kami, her personality is so large it takes over) and worry about him too. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

It was a good view on the “bad boy” even if it didn’t exactly explain his bad boy persona or why he feels the need to act tough all the time. This story was a bit more on the heartbreaking side when compared to its counterpart, and I found its more serious tone a bit refreshing. Jared isn’t necessarily a cheeky character, even though he does have some funny lines, and it was good to see him before he went to Sorry-In-The-Vale. The reader gets a glimpse of his relationship with him mother before they went back to England and how he is affected by that - even if it is a little part.
