To be honest, before buying this, I was a bit reluctant because of its length, but after reading it, I understood the justified length of the series or volume containing four books. The author has explicitly created a whole new universe and drafted each and every character and scenario in detail. This obviously needs time, patience, skill, and imagination. The whole new fictious universe set in 2063 is well detailed to grab attention, keep you hooked, and maintain the interest of the reader. The suspense surrounding a murder set in the year 2063 in Los Angeles will keep you tied up with your chair while reading, and trust me, you will keep turning the pages to learn more. The search, mission, survival, and story of another planet serving as the mainplot give a lot of scope for the readers to get attached to the story. This seemed like a new-generation read that everyone would love to read to experience the vivid and advanced horizons of imagination. I suggest this is a must-read for sci-fi lovers. All I can say is WOW! This incredible book is loaded with intrigue, action, political maneuvering, conspiracies, space exploration, deep sea exploration, you name it. Barry keeps up the pace throughout this entire book. The characters are fascinating, his invented technology is stunning, I had trouble putting it down. Anyone who is into hard/deep Science Fiction will love The Eden Paradox. And stayed tuned for the rest of the series as well. I am planning to pick them up soon (I really want to find out what happens next) If I had to sum this up - I'd say it was an epic space opera for sci-fi lovers who enjoy space travel, aliens, and new worlds. I got so wrapped up in this, the adventure, the thrills, the mystery, that I was reluctant to set it down for even a moment. Kirwan does a masterful job of bringing Earth, Eden, and an unforgettable cast of characters to life before your eyes. The plot moves along smoothly, and has enough twists you'll give up on guessing where the story will take you next. I cannot recommend this enough for those looking for a new sci-fi adventure to add to their read pile. The Eden Paradox by Barry Kirwan. Is an immersive Science Fiction novel that centres around the near destruction of earth , and the discovery of a new planet, Eden, that offers a glimmer of hope for humanity. The narrative is mainly driven by two characters: Micah, an analyst on Earth, who is trying to safeguard Earth amidst a web of conspiracies and unexpected dangers, and Blake, the lead astronaut on the mission to Eden, who is determined to ensure the safety of his crew whilst trying to uncover the truths of this new plant, Eden. The story setting was vivid, and i could picture the new planet of Eden as the author described it well with attention to detail, especially the “techy” aspects, that can sometimes get confusing, it felt real and relatable. The most enjoyable part part of the novel for me was following the journey of the astronauts' as they faced, external and internal struggles, having to face their fears head on, it did get quite emotional at times, showing what it means to be human. I loved this book, it was filled with suspense and unexpected twists that just had me constantly anticipating what was coming next. I look forward to reading a lot more by this author. Kirwan is a great storyteller, and he crafts a story that is believable and unforgettable. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Kirwans character building is exceptional, there’s a mix of quirks and flaws to each of them, just like people i actually know, so they were definitely relatable.
The author is an experienced writer, and it shows here with the elevated levels of tension and suspense, and the incorporation of numerous unexpected twists in his compulsive storytelling. The novel was definitely hard to put down.
Barry Kirwan definately delivered a one of a kind sci-fi thrill ride. The depth of its characters and its world are remarkable, especially given how quickly it reads. Just remember to keep a light on – the future might be closer than we think. ( )
