This was a really cute, somewhat funny, book that my 4- and 6-year-old nieces enjoyed. It's about two friends (Owl and Rabbit) who learn that working together is better than competing with one another. The illustrations are lovely and detailed. ( )

Very cute, with great illustrations. Owl and Rabbit take issues with each other's houses and try to outdo the other, until it all falls down. A lesson in not need to “keep up with the Jone’s” and how to get along with the neighbors. ( )

In this predictable book, Owl and Rabbit are good friends and neighbors until Rabbit's garden grows so big, it covers Owl's house view. Owl decides to build his house taller to look over the garden, but also offends Rabbit. So Rabbit and Owl race to see who can build a taller house. The illustrations in the book are very realistic and bright. The background is the color of the sunset. The text is a small amount on each page, which makes it very easy for beginning readers. The book is a great lesson taught to children about friendship and jealousy. Jealousy is a very common thing in a friendship and many friendships are broken because of it. A teacher can use this book as an example of friendship, teaching students to be friends with others. ( )
