A wonderful book that combines architecture, poetry and children's art materials. Loved the mini-bios at the back that talk about the artists and their inspirations. ( )

This book is amazing to get kids thinking about the structures that they build. This book has ideas that promote engineering/ architecture in students. This book is good for younger- upper elementary because many kids enjoy the idea of making forts and structures with their own creativity.

A great book to read to kids to inspire building and creating. Perfect for Makerspaces or STEM/STEAM activities. ( )

This is a book that I was initially drawn to because of the little African American boy building with blocks. As a preschool teacher, I see this image so often; I was curious what this book was about that went along with the topic of “diversity” besides the fact that the child on the cover is African American. I was pleased to see the diversity within the pages and was quickly informed that this book describes the beauty of what children build can relate to extravagant buildings that have played a role in history over the years. I was blown away by the creativity in the placement of the text and flow of the poetry throughout the book. The images were children’s versions of what could be compared to buildings found across the world. ( )
