Warnings about labor and environmental degradation in the face of unchecked global free-trade agreements have been well-made prior to this little book, just never with such elegantly crafted arguments. Berry concludes this slim volume with a strong case for protectionism as differentiated from isolationism and an admonition to stay focused on small, personal and local means of demonstrating how a better economy can work.
