I don't think the plot is particularly well done, but the characters are likable and intriguing enough that it is still a good read ( ) I listened to this with my husband and we both enjoyed it. Some parts of the book are written from the dog's perspective, which, if the information is accurate, teaches a lot about a dog's ability to recognize scents. There is a lot of swearing, but based on the story, it's needed to lend credibility. If you love dogs and like mystery/thrillers, read this book. One of my colleagues at the library didn't just recommend it, she told me I had to read it and put the copy in my hand when she finished it. The week before she read Suspect we'd had a long talk about our dogs. Mine dog is a Belgian Malinois, which she'd never heard of and is one of the breeds mentioned in this novel, but the reason she was excited by the book was much more than that. It's the intense bond between humans and working military/police dogs that made her and then my dog-love-o-meter spike off the charts. It's a beautiful relationship story and the mystery/thriller is pretty good, too, but for me that aspect of the book was secondary. This book will make you appreciate your dog much, much more than you do, even if you're already totally smitten. I have a personal policy of not reading books about animals and/or children. I violated that personal policy when I read ROOM by Emma Donoghue and it was totally worth it. The same goes for Suspect. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
