This book is about a Native American princess named Pocahontas. She was very brave and befriended the colonists that came to America from England. She married an Englishman and after having a baby, moved to England with her husband. She perished in England, but the story of her bravery lives on.
Personal Reaction:
I have always loved reading the stories about Pocahontas. She was sort of like a hero to me growing up. I loved reading about her bravery and standing up for what she believed in no matter what anyone thought.
Classroom Extension:
1. I could use this story to show students that it is important to be kind to everyone no matter how different they are.
2. I could also use this story to teach students a little history lesson of the first people to come to America.
