I could not stop reading this incredible story. There's a lot to absolutely love about this book. The way Tiffany weaves these amazing tales of love and intrigue in a world so few truly know and understand is compelling, and at times hard to read. The character of the hour is Michael Demir, a somewhat minor character in The Siren who comes into his own as the titular Angel. Tiffany writes what is easily one of my all-time favorite romances between submissive Michael and Dom Griffin Fiske. Seriously unbelievable. And of course, Kingsley. Just because he always needs to be mentioned. I liked this book much better than the first book in the series. I loved Griffin and Michael, and Nora and Søren didn't bug me as much in this book. I still don't think Nora is someone I'd be able to be friends with, but no one is asking me to. There were some editing problems in the book, but they are probably only problematic to people, like me, who can't turn off their damned internal editor. :) (Yes, Cyndy, you can say "I told you so" now.) 4* Hopefully I have time to write a full review for this soon, but for now I will just say it was good but not as good as The Siren! This one was a bit kinkier (I hadn't thought it possible but Reisz continues to defy expectations) and although I love, love, loved Michael's story I felt that there were times where the plot took a back seat and I'm never crazy about that. That being said it is still really, really good and there's just enough of a cliffhanger to make me pick up the next one right away. Also- these books are (strangely?) helping to keep me sane while I work to read/review 20 YA books/media for school... In the follow up to THE SIREN, Tiffany Reisz outdoes herself again with THE ANGEL. I admit that the pace at the beginning of the book wore on me just a bit. I wasn't as captivated at first as I was with THE SIREN but then things shifted into gear and I was hooked. In retrospect, the opening to THE ANGEL is like the breathing period fine wines need before they truly wrap themselves around your palette--the set up to something fabulous. I don't want to include too much detail for fear of spoiling the fun for you darlings, but just know that we're once again in company with the delicious Griffin Fiske and the beautifully angelic (!) Michael from Father Stearns' parish. Fr. Stearns (Soren) has been shortlisted for a powerful, high level position in the church and an anonymous tip to a reporter sparks an investigation that might expose his life and lifestyle with Nora. What follows is a journey for all the characters (yes, ALL of them--Nora, Griffin, Michael, Soren and even my imaginary future husband Kingsley) to love and contentment. I swear, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, waiting for that moment when the world that the characters inhabit was going to be exposed. I admit to being both fascinated and afraid of Soren, but THE ANGEL gave me that glimpse inside and made me want to root for him. Tiffany Reisz has done it again. Excellent storytelling and beautiful prose make this a definite recommendation. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

HTML: No safe word can protect the heart Infamous erotica author and accomplished dominatrix Nora Sutherlin is doing something utterly out of character: hiding. While her longtime lover, Søren--whose fetishes, if exposed, would be his ruin--is under scrutiny pending a major promotion, Nora's lying low and away from temptation in the lap of luxury. Her host, the wealthy and uninhibited Griffin Fiske, is thrilled to have Nora stay at his country estate, especially once he meets her traveling companion. Young, inexperienced and angelically beautiful, Michael has become Nora's protégé, and this summer with Griffin is going to be his training, where the hazing never ends. But while her flesh is willing, Nora's mind is wandering. To thoughts of Søren, her master, under investigation by a journalist with an ax to grind. And to another man from Nora's past, whose hold on her is less bruising, but whose secrets are no less painful. It's a summer that will prove the old adage: lov Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

quotes below:
~~
A good morning so far - she'd been fucked by her favorite man, hugged by her favorite boy and silently adored by her favorite angel.
~~
-if Nora wanted him to mop his floor with his hair, he'd do it with bliss. Finally his long hair would come in handy.
~~
If Michael didn't worship the ground Nora walked on, he'd probably kill her.
~~
"Born to be a bottom," she sighed. "Can't wait to torture Griffin with this news."
~~
"Come with me, little boy," Brad said with a voice that suddenly seemed even deeper than before. Michael swallowed.
"Yes, sir."
~~
Don't touch my property, Jack... Even Nora's books and the erotic orders she whispered in his ears at night hadn't aroused him as much as those five words of Griffin's had. My property. If only.
~~
"Forgive me, Suzanne," he'd said and she heard her own need echoed in his voice. "I do not belong to myself."
~~
Michael wanted a lot of stuff from Griffin - his heart, his body... His friendship wasn't even in the top five.
~~
She could never go back. So she had to go on.
~~
"Do not speak again until I give you permission."
Michael opened his mouth in automatic "Yes, sir" but remembered himself and stayed silent.
"Good boy. Now go. In my bed. Right now."
~~
"I want you inside me," he said simply. He reached out and dug his fingers into Griffin's biceps. "I will beg you for it if you order me to. And I'll beg you for it even if you don't."
~~
-"Just once, try to be with someone who makes you cry like this, out of love. Not out of pain or fear. Is that too much to ask?"
~~
She kicked off her shoes and left them behind in the hall. And Nora didn't walk and she didn't crawl and she didn't fly.
She ran. Down the hall she ran as if the hounds of hell nipped at her heels. She ran as if God himself had ordered her to. She ran as if her life depended on it and in that moment she might have sworn it did.
She didn't know why she ran. She didn't know who or what waited for her in the White Room. She only knew she had to get there as fast as she could and whoever it was, he was worth running to.
~~
"Wesley..." she breathed, unable to take another step. But she didn't have to, because he was on his feet and running to her now, and he held her in his arms and she held him in hers, and she knew she'd never run again. Not from him anyway. Not from her Wesley.
