The owl and the pussycat is an adorable story of an owl and a cat that take a trip together. They eat dinner, he sings to her while playing a guitar then she does the unthinkable and proposes to him. They buy a ring from a pig then are married by a turkey. The story ends with them dancing under the moon light. This book is cute and a great poetry book. I love the romance and adventure of the owl and the pussycat. This book contains a lot of rhythm and Imagery. It is magical and adventurous. I think kids would really enjoy this book. Reading this book aloud to kids on Valentine’s Day would be really cute and funny. It’s talking about love while still teaching poetry. Having the kids create their very own poetry to read aloud would be useful for speaking skills and creativity. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

To emphasize the importance of a scene, the author used repetition. During the pig scene, he repeated "his nose, his nose". After the owl and pussycat were married they danced under the moon and the other repeated "the moon, the moon". To go along with the simple poetry theme, the poem had rhyme and rhythm which allows students to enjoy the flow of the poem. This is a book for young readers but can also be enjoyed by teachers or parents. Therefore, this is a perfect book for adults to get into character for a read aloud.
