Although it didn't captivate me as much as any of the Warriors series, I found myself looking forward to returning to Lucky's world every day as I picked up my book. I would argue this is for slightly younger readers than Warriors, but that's just based on this first book. ( ) Survivors: The Empty City is the first book of the Survivors series, by Erin Hunter. Lucky, a stray dog, is in a cage in the "Trap House"(that place were stray dogs are placed in when caught), when the Big Growl, an earthquake strikes. Only he and Sweet, a Swift Dog, make it out to the abandoned city. However, they soon split up, and Lucky is attacked by foxes, but is saved by a "pack" of Leashed Dogs; one of whom is his sister, Bella. Lucky decides to stay with them and teach them how to survive on their own. They travel out of the city, not meeting any longpaws(humans) except ones in strange yellow suits. They encounter a strange enclosed camp with plenty of food, which turns out to be the home of a pack of Fierce Dogs; which they escape from. They travel away from the camp, and soon find a seemingly perfect place to live, so Lucky decides to leave. However, as he leaves the next day, he hears sounds of fighting behind him, and he runs back. I love dogs, so maybe if I didn't like dogs so much, I wouldn't have given this book such a good rating. My favourite character was Bruno, the German Shepherd who didn't really have that much of a role, but I still liked him a lot. There were many other characters who I liked, but that would require listing the whole pack. The book ended in a HORRIBLE cliffhanger, which was just a bit of a good thing because now we know Lucky will come back. Luckily, I had the second book with me, so the the ending wasn't much of a disaster for me. I didn't really have any problems with the book, except the fact that it isn't very "heavy", so it's pretty easy to read. I actually liked the terminology, because it actually sounded like what a dog would name something, and I didn't have problems understanding it. In the end, the book was really good, and keep up the good work, Erin Hunter! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
