I put it down and read something else and came back hoping there would be a tidbit that I could glean from it. I finished it and got the tidbit. Please don't waste your money on it. The title is the tidbit and then of course we all know that these books want you to meditate and have a mantra. That's it. It might have worked out for the author but I disagree with his method. You can't always "love" yourself. I think loving yourself means forgiving yourself for your mistakes, telling yourself "it's okay I made this mistake, but I will try to make ammends". Sometimes it means being tough with yourself "I love myself and want to be more fit. I will not eat this delicacy right now and will do my exercise today". See? You're being a parent for yourself. If you don't discipline yourself sooner or later your love for yourself will decrease when you are not able to meet your own expectations. It also means teaching yourself new things. You make a mistake and you think about "what can I learn from this?" Then use that knowledge the next time. If you don't consciously focus on learning from situations where you made a fool of yourself then you run the risk of being anxious about those situations which will in-turn decrease your love for yourself. I'm sure there are lots of other various skills that are required for loving yourself. A much better and more practical book would be one which lists down these qualities that are all required for being able to respect and love yourself so that we can sustain a healthy lifestyle as well as like ourselves. Both are important and depend on each other IMO. A proper dealing with this topic would be to list out statements / attitudes to aspire for like the quoted sentences that I have mentioned above. A list of such statements to keep with yourself and see which one you can tell yourself in various situations. That would go a long way in loving yourself ultimately. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

HTML: THE SELF-PUBLISHED PHENOMENON â??NOW FULLY REVISED AND EXPANDED I almost didn't publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. Here I was, a CEO who'd fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I'd be a laughingstock and my career would be finished. But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. The book went viral. Amazing people all over bought copies for friends and family. For some, this book saved their lives. For others, it was the first time they ever loved themselves. Many readers reached out and asked questions. This taught me that, to create lasting impact, I had to go deeper. So, seven years later, here it is. All the questions I received, resolved. My intention is that by the time you finish this new edition, not only will you be committed to loving yourself, you'll know exactly how to do it. And, most importantly, how to make it last.
