This is not one of my favorite fairy tales however, I think it could teach children a lot. It definitely can teach them about how family is everything and how you should always stick together, It can teach them not to trust strangers, and lastly, it can teach them how good always wins over evil. Students can benefit from reading this story, especially because it is a classic. I can see myself teaching this to my students, mostly because I want to teach english! This ISBN, 0531040623, also applies to the edition I read & am reviewing, illustrated by [a:Anthony Browne|35335|Anthony Browne|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1272902188p2/35335.jpg], in 1981 pub. by Julia Macrae Books, a division of Franklin Watts Ltd. Browne sets one of my favorite tales in modern times and brings to the deliciously scary illustrations an artist's sensibility that gives me fresh goosebumps. I would not read this at bedtime, despite the happy ending. But I did find it wonderful and I recommend it to anyone who has gotten a kick out of these brave & clever children. If I had children with whom to share it, I would buy it. I wonder if it was intentional that the hedonistic & selfish stepmother looks like Snow White.... " This version of Hansel and Gretel is pretty much the re-told version of the original story. The siblings come across a house made of candy and that house belongs to a witch. I am aware that this story is supposed to be a little bit "dark", but the illustrations in this book really bring out the darkness of the story. I enjoyed the illustrations more than the actual repetitive story. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
