Stuff like this that vilifies technology just makes me angry. ( ) Another delightful addition to the series. I particularly liked the farce and play on words of VEXT-MAIL, and I hope the world doesn't come to something so inane in my lifetime. The combination of letters and newspaper articles is unique and delightful. I commend "Wy Fy's" attempt to go without her cell phone for a month! A nice story for earlier middle grade readers. Lots of word play, with fun spellings and creative names for the characters such as Dr. Izzy Dedyet, Postmaster Sue Perstisus, and a host of others. This book continues the adventures of Seymour Hope an eleven year-old boy who lives in the town of Ghastly in an old mansion at 43 Old Cemetery Road, without a telephone, television, or any computer gaming devices. The townspeople have to find a way to keep the post office from being closed down and replaced with a new system of communication called VEXT-mail. The book has many entertaining drawings which enhance the story. The fourth in a series that started with Dying to Meet You (43 Old Cemetery Road). With the impending closure of the post office, the transition to the new communication system VEXT-mail is anything but smooth for the human and paranormal residents of Ghastly, Illinois. Story told mostly through letters. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
