Independent Reading Level: Grades 1-4 What a great way to combine poetry and mathematical concepts! The book consists of 14 poems written in the style of famous poets. In each page in consist a poem with a specific math concept and pictures. I would definitely use this in class! I could read one poem and have students solve the puzzle within the poem. I could also have students pick a poem and do a project together as a end of the year project, over the math concepts. There is so much you can do with this amazing book! This is a very clever book that has multiple poems, but within those poems there is math problems students can solve. It covers many different math topics so I would possibly use the one that they just recently went over as a warmup or something. Because this book is poems, I would have them solve the problems in the book and have them write their own to help with their English skills. It would be great if you could coordinate with the English teachers to see when they are doing poems. This book presents a collection of short poem's, and each of these poems are inspired by one from a famous poet, including Edgar Allan Poe. Each of these poems also incorporates some type of mathematics. The poems have questions about math in them that can be answered and checked based on the key. In the back of the book are mini-biographies about each poet used. This book would be a cute way to show a creative way to write math word problems, or a fun way to study the different styles of poetry. This book took my breath away when I first read it. This book is amazing; each page is focused on one particular poet and has math in each one. Some poems are in the style of each poets style and the illustration is amazing. It's so cute! The book is for older ages, and finding the math in the poems can be tricky. Some poems have equations put in the poems for you to find and solve. My favorite book involving math right now. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
