Appartient à la sérieJohn Reeves (1)
Billy Hitchings: An everyday kid with everyday dreams. He has a good life with his Grandmother in Myrtle Beach, only a few blocks from the Atlantic. He even enjoys his job at the local burger joint... most of the time.
John Reeves: A marine who lost his path overseas working as a mercenary in war-torn countries across the Middle East. He works as a bodyguard in New York, never quite able to get away from the action. Dr. Amfar Ditpra: An archaeologist from India recently graduated from the University of Michigan. He and a co-worker are asked to transport an artifact their team found in Kentucky when everything implodes.
Through no fault of his own, fate pushes Billy into a whirlwind of fear and questions. His curiosity gets the best of him, and it may be his undoing. There is talk of an ancient legend and a not so ancient artifact. Will his new friends help him find the answers he seeks? Or will they betray him to their own needs? John Reeves is not exactly a stand-up kind of a guy, but in a dangerous situation, he is definitely, one you want on your side. When Reeves follows his fiancée to Myrtle Beach to attempt to repair their relationship that he screwed up, little does he know that he is walking into a hot situation. Reeves finds his fiancée in the hospital after an explosion and decides that the least he can do is investigate the explosion. That decision puts him in touch with Billy Hitchings, and things go crazy from there.
This book is full of interesting characters that make bad decisions. Reeves is a likeable guy, except that he was unfaithful to his fiancée and Billy Hitchings is a young man that has never put much effort into his life, still living with his grandmother. When they cross paths, Reeves feels sorry for Billy, and afraid that someone is out to get him. The action pops so quickly, making the story a wild ride, then after multiple twists and turns, it hits a super surprise ending. I recommend this for lovers of action, especially with a James Bond (minus the girls) atmosphere. ( )
