I loved this book the first time a read it, And I loved it even more this reread. The intertwining of storylines, the introduction of new perspectives, the way puzzle pieces fit together perfectly to set up the last book. Cress’s story, though she’s been involved since the first book, is really the story that needed to be included to step up the last book. But not only did it set up the plot lines, but it also set up so much character development giving each character their final motivation for the last story. Simply my favorite in the series. ( ) Representation: Asian character Trigger warnings: Pandemic, military violence and war themes, mass death in the past, physical assault and injury, blood depiction Score: Seven out of ten. Find this review on The StoryGraph. Well. It looks like I finally read Cress. After picking up (and surprisingly enjoying) Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer, I wanted to give her another shot to see if the The Lunar Chronicles continued to impress me. I glanced at the blurb, making it seem intriguing and a book that would suit my tastes. When I closed the final page, it was enjoyable. Just seems to get better with every book. I enjoy how different the female characters are and how they are kicked in their way. Cress is no exception to this. I loved Cress' excitement and found it refreshing that she did not consistently cry about her life thus far. I loved that Cress was a techie. I didn't expect to love her character as much as I did.
