Review/Critique:
This book shares the process of planting a garden, letting the produce grow, and then harvesting the garden. It shares many of the small steps and the illustrations show what is being done.

This is a good informational text because there are clear steps and processes to how plants are planted, grown, and harvested. The pictures help depict the process, and it is engaging for children because the characters are children themselves. ( )

About growing a garden seems like it would be a good spring read at first glance but the more I think about it the more I think it would be good for any time between spring and fall (it doesn't really cover winter). The illustrations remind me of stained glass windows b/c of the thick black lines. There is a brief informational section about seeds on the last page. ( )
