Lovely to look at, but the words did not delight me as much as the pictures did. Sweet story. ( ) This book tells a story about a girl wants to meet the moon and tried all means to meet the moon. Finally, she meets the moon and is very happy. The main idea of the book is that the girl looks for the moon everywhere, but the moon is always there. The picture book is illustrated with soft lines and warm colors, creating a harmonious atmosphere. The girl and other characters are depicted without mouth. But readers could feel the inner feeling of them. It is interesting that the girl is always accompanied with a white rabbit. It reminds me that lots of children have a best friend---either a pet, or a toy with them. It creates a closer relationship between the character and young readers. Genre: fiction I would... 1. have a young reader (kinder-2nd grade) read this book on their own because it is a fairly easy read. 2. use it as a wordless book and have students come up with the story. Review: "Red Knit Cap Girl to the Rescue" is a good fiction book because it has believable characters. The main character, the little girl, is relatable in the sense that many of us will find ourselves in a situation where we must help someone else. The book also has beautiful illustrations that help tell the story. Very popular at my library - it was never on the shelf, finally I requested it and it took some time to come in. The message of being quiet, patient, *of* nature, in order to appreciate nature, is not lost on me. Something about this isn't quite wonderful for me, though. Maybe I felt too abruptly dropped into the story? After all, it reads like a sequel; one that would be titled Red Knit Cap Girl and the Moon." But it is lovely and charming, and might even convince the most restless children, and the ones most fond of artificial diversions, to look at the sky for just a moment. And that would be a good thing." aucune critique | ajouter une critique
