I enjoyed the first book but I honestly didn't think there needed to be a sequel. I could have done without it. ( )

Per quanto mi riguarda, Kendare Blake ha camminato sul filo del rasoio scrivendo il secondo volume della duologia su Anna Vestita di Sangue. Il primo era stato una vera sorpresa, uno degli YA migliori che mi sia capitato di leggere. Quindi, la Blake doveva essere brava nel ripetersi e nel non irritarmi con lo solite solfe da YA. Già la trama era piuttosto sospetta (e, infatti, ho aspettato tanto prima di trovare il coraggio di affrontare Girl of Nightmares).

Tuttavia, nonostante un inizio che mi è parso eccessivamente dilatato, l'autrice è riuscita a tenersi lontana dalla mia personale Area di Lettrice Furiosa e mi ha regalato una conclusione soddisfacente. Ben fatto, Blake: con questo, ti sei meritata lo stesso giudizio di Anna Vestita di Sangue. Sei riuscita a farmi dimenticare quei momenti della lettura in cui temevo davvero mi avresti delusa.

Devo dire che il Cas saccente e misantropo del primo libro mi è mancato un po', così come la Anna Dea della Morte, che era stata capace di fargli un deretano così. Me lo aspettavo, ma mi è dispiaciuto le stesso. In compenso, devo dire che Thomas e Carmel hanno avuto uno sviluppo interessante. E Thomas è troppo carino. Punto.

Ho trovato allettante anche la nuova comparsa, Jestine, una specie di Cas prima maniera in gonnella. Peccato che la sua apparizione duri solo mezzo romanzo. Il suo essere così indifferente nei confronti della causa di Cas, pur non essendogli apertamente ostile, ha stimolato parecchio la mia curiosità. Se mai la Blake tornerà a scrivere di Cas, spero non si dimentichi di lei. ( )

Cas and his friends getting into another, shall we say, adventure. This time Cas is a lot more thinking about his relationship with his friends etc.

This book, the second in the series, was not as fast to read as the first one. It showed a Cas that was a bit more grown up and protective of his friends. He also did not give up his obsession with Anna. I have to admit, the book, did not have the ending i thought it would have. But still, i liked it a lot. If i could give half-stars, i would have.
Kendare Blake is a very talented author and i most certainy hope she continues writing the series for a few books more. Young Adult?, I am a young adult at heart..... ( )

I liked Anna Dressed in Blood more, but this one was still good, especially once they went to England and Scotland. The 4-star rating is due mostly to a satisfying ending and the promise of the main character truly moving on to new adventures and leaving Anna to her happy afterlife. Looking forward to more adventures with Cas and the gang! ( )
