Mr. and Mrs. Comfort invited 32 people for a family reunion. They arranged the table in order to accommodate everyone, but as everyone started coming in the husband and guests start rearranging the seating. Eventually, at the end, the best way to have the seating arrangement is the way Mrs. Comfort had it. This book had many mathematical concepts included, but the main ones were Area and Perimeter. It gives many examples of how to rearrange a rectangle table with using perimeter and area. I would use this as a read aloud because it is creative and fun, but I would use some parts of the book to introduce perimeter or area. I feel like students will confused if too much is presented to them, but overall a great and enjoyable book. ( )

This book is about Mr. and Mrs. Comfort having a family reunion. They need to arrange the tables so that everyone in the family can have some of their delicious spaghetti and meatballs. This book explains all about area and perimeter in a cute, funny way. I think this would be a great book to read to a 4th or 5th grade classroom right before you teach a lesson about area and perimeter. ( )

In this story, the Comfort family throw a dinner party for their friends. They order tables and chairs, and they try different arrangements of the same number of tables to accommodate the extra guests that arrive. This book would be perfect to show composition of shapes and how it affects the area and perimeter of the rectangles. ( )

Mr. and Mrs. Comfort wanted to invite family and friends over for a family reunion that would seat 32 guests. She arranged a seat for each guest. As family and friends began to arrive they rearranged the seating so they could sit with each other. Once everyone arrived the seating arrangement ended the way Mrs.Comfort originally had it.
Mrs. Comfort was very frustrated with everyone changing her seating arrangement but it worked out. In the end everyone realized Mrs. Comfort set up worked best. This book could be used as an introduction to area, perimeter, division, and possible multiplication. ( )

The Comforts are hosting a family reunion at their house and are making their famous spaghetti and meatballs. They have planned the seating and meals perfectly, but when the guests arrive all of their plans go out the window. Throughout the story students can be prompted and asked of what the Comforts should do and how they could solve the various problems that arise in the book. It is a great story for teaching the concept and importance of measurement. ( )
