( ) Enjoyable story. Megan's inventor uncle makes her a tiny computer, which is hugely exciting to more than Megan: the mice world is overjoyed to find a computer sized just right for them! It was difficult working on the humans' computers after the humans had all gone to bed because they were much too big. So the mice make contact with Megan, convince her they're really smart and friendly, and come up with an ingenious plan to have the computers mass produced. But first, they have to solve the problem of Joey, Megan's step-cousin, who has seen a little too much to keep him in the dark. A good choice for upper elementary readers who aren't afraid of a big book. I may have a slightly soft spot for little mice that do pirouettes when they're happy but this was a well written cute book. From the description of the book, the main topic is about how mice could get tiny laptops for their use. What it doesn't mention is the underlying problems and eventual solutions for the main character, Megan. Megan's parents are divorced and has spent most of her life with her mother. A new research trip sends Megan's mother to Australia and forces Megan to stay with her father and his new wife. The awkwardness of a new family, new school, and new step-cousin are dealt with and works out in the end for everybody and the mice. There's suspense and some adventure. The words flow well and are easy to read. I was hooked within the first chapter or two. Recommended reading for both girls and boys, probably grade 4 and up. Makes me want to go out and adopt a little mouse or two but they won't be as smart as the ones from this novel.. or are they? aucune critique | ajouter une critique
