Breaker Boys: How a Photograph Helped End Child Labor is a fascinating look at America's use of child labor and the poor working conditions they endured. Having little knowledge on this topic, I found this book to be fascinating. The images Lewis Hine highlight the truly terrible working conditions many Americans dealt with while working in coal mines. While the content of the book is difficult because it is hard to imagine children enduring so much, it really helps the reader understand what happened. The details and Hine's pictures really paint the issue of child labor and how hard those for and against child labor laws fought. The images are haunting and tell the story so well. Overall, I enjoyed this book. It teaches a great history lesson while also helping readers appreciate the laws currently in place. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
