There was an old lady who first swallowed a clover but she did not roll over. Then she swallowed a daisy to brighten the clover, but why the clover. Next, she swallowed a butterfly to rest on the daisy, but why the clover. Following that she swallowed a bird to glide with the butterfly, but whys swallow the clover. She then swallowed a pot to carry the bird. They still don’t know why she swallowed the clover. She swallowed the gold to fill up the pot, but why swallow the clover. She then swallowed a fiddle but then she started to dance and leprechaun joined her. When she giggled out of her mouth came a rainbow and the book ends with Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. The genre of “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover!” is fantasy.
