It tells the story of Tye May, a poor little girl who dreams about owning a paint brush. When a woman appears in dream and gives her a majic paint brush Tye May discovers that anything she draws with this brush turns to life! When the emperor finds out about the magic brush he demands that Tye May draw her many things including a ship and ocean that sail him away. When the ship crashes the emperor and all that were on board are stranded and have to work to stay alive. I think this book tells young readers about how being greedy doesn't get you anywhere, and those who are good come out stronger than evil. ( ) This was a pretty good little Chinese folk tale. I especially liked that the emperor was expelled without some great drawn out battle scene. It was justice with a sense of scale. Altogether, it was a nice piece of storytelling, and the illustrations though minimalist were very well done. I enjoyed them at least. This book is about a little Chinese girl named Tye May who is very poor. She wants a paint brush so she can draw. One night in a dream, a woman appeared to her and gave her a brush. She started painting things and they would come to life. The Emperor demanded she paint something for him after he was very mean to Tye May. She painted an ocean, a boat, and winds so the Emperor got swept off to sea to a deserted island. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
