And this book is one of them. I was sad realizing that I would not be reading anymore of the Genghis and his family. And then I accidentally tripped over the fact that Conn Iggulden would be writing a 5th book. Hooray! This one centers around Kublai Khan and his rise from a young scholar to the leader of the Mongols. It's bloody long with some really bloody parts. In the book Kublai did look so noble and heroic, almost perfect, compared to the decadent Guyuk, uncouth Mongke, and the misguided Arik-Boke that it bordered on a Hollywood script. He lacked some dimension compared to the other central protagonists like Julius, Brutus, and Genghis in Conn's other books. But the book is not lacking drama and action. It's a grand book.
