It seems I only read this book to finish the series. I couldn't wait to finish the book just so I could be done ( )

teen fiction (paranormal series ending). Kiersten's characters still make me laugh. ( )

The third book of the Paranormalcy trilogy by Kiersten White is Endlessly. Evie is still needed to open a gate that would allow the faeries and other paranormals get back to their original realm. Lend the half-human, half-water elemental is still her boyfriend. Other returning cast members are Arianna the vampire who wanted to be a fashion designer before she was turned, Reth the Seelie Faerie who claims he loves Evie and wants to make her an immortal, Jack the boy who was stolen and reared by faeries, Vivian the Empty One created by the Unseelie Court, Lend's parents, David and Cresseda; Raquel of the IPCA, the closest thing to a mother Evie has known; and Evie's normal human friend, Carlee. (There are a few more paranormals who've appeared in earlier books.)

Both the Dark Queen of the Unseelie and the Light Queen of the Seelie have parts to play. Lend gets to be the 'damsel' in distress to be rescued by Reth and Evie. Lend gets an inconvenient curse put on him that will need to be removed. Jack is back and happy to make himself useful.

Things are not going well at the IPCA because they have a new lead supervisor, Anne-Laurie LeFevre. She's a jerk who needs to be worked around, not an ally as Raquel was.

Paranormals are gathering at Cresseda's pond. I enjoyed the scenes set there, especially Evie's reactions and remarks. There are plenty of scenes in the Faerie Realm. We get to learn just how the faerie queens got themselves and most of the other paranormals to earth. We also learn a bit of background information for Raquel and Jack (such as how he remembered his name). There's the United Paranormal Aid and Rehabilitation Group to be formed.

Notes:

'Shortest Day of the Year' chapter: December 21st is Evie's birthday, according to her fake birth certificate.

'Glamourous Parties' chapter: See chapter of book one, Paranormalcy, for what happened at the prom.

'Sparks Fly' chapter: See chapter of book, for when Evie partially drained that vampire stalker.

'Holding Hands With Boys' chapter: See chapter of book, for when Jack tried to get Evie to open a gate to hell.

This ending manages to solve several problems after plenty of traps and danger. I really enjoyed the descriptions during the climax. All in all, I think it was a good ending. ( )

As the conclusion to the Paranormalcy trilogy, I had high hopes for this book. Especially since I loved the first two installments. While I would not say I disliked the book, I was disappointed. I found the book to be unengaging and predictable.

The way it ended was the right way to end the trilogy, and from the beginning of the book, you could guess what she would do. Personally, I am tired of the "love sick teenager" angle of many stories. And that is exactly what this book did to an extreme.

I felt the writing was still well done and the plot line was decent. I wish there had been more action and I felt that the plot resolution was disappointing.

By this point, Evie was getting annoying with her sole concern being on Lend. I understand that she loves him but she has other people counting on her as well. She needed to realize that and realize that the world does not revolve around her and Lend. I think my favorite character ended up being Reth because he knew what needed to be done and was willing to go to whatever lengths necessary to accomplish them.

This is a trilogy that I am thankful I read from the library. While I might reread it in the future, it is not one that I would purchase. Unless it is on Amazon's Kindle Daily/Monthly Deals.

Unfortunately this book only gets 3/5 stars for me. ( )

I enjoy reading about Evie and her life among the paranormal. We get to meet so many creatures in this book a smelly unicorn, who knew? And bad tempered dragons and fairies. Yep always nice to read about. This book is the final in a trilogy where she takes care of those pesky paranormals once and forever. Yeah it’s the end and I’m ok with that I think if this was stretched any further it would become rather boring. Better to end it on a final finale world closing end. I still hate these covers that cover does not do justice to Evie a quick tempered, smart mouth teenager that can kick fairy butt.
