Imagination required! ( ) In this mostly wordless (almost there are some words within the illustration on signs) picture book, a young boy meets a cloud and gets swept up into the sky to Sector 7, the place where clouds shapes are determined and get sent all around. The boy comes up with some creative cloud ideas but gets in trouble for putting such ideas in the clouds head! A wonderful book to get kids imaginations going. A fun one to have kids write their own words for or build a story together! The illustrations are detailed which could lead to some great close examinations and reasons to pick it up again and again. A boy is on a field trip to the Empire State Building. At the top it is cloudy with limited visibility. Suddenly, a little cloud child is playing tricks on him, taking his hat and scarf. They become fast friends and the cloud child whisks him off to Sector 7, which is like Grand Central Station for clouds: clouds return, receive plans for what kind of cloud they will become, and then exit. The clouds wish they didn't have to be their normal old cloud shapes and the boy draws up plans for them to be cloud fish. Illustrations are stunning, vivid colors, watercolor and gouache. I enjoyed the illustrations that this book provided. A Caldecott Honor Book, this story takes readers on a wordless adventure, following the story of a boy who's class field trip to the Empire State Building takes him to the clouds to another world. This book could be used to show children the importance of illustrations in stories. Because this book doesn't have any words, the illustrations have to clearly show the storyline. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
