A vibrantly illustrated read-aloud, The Way I Act is a great way to introduce young readers to different positive character traits. The poem-like verses promote emotional intelligence and a variety of social skills. After reading each trait, I like to elaborate and make a personal connection to each one. This helps young readers learn new vocabulary (such as persistent and capable) by offering a simple, real life example. Tip: the book can be used to reinforce positive behavior. It’s also a good classroom prompt on using adjectives. An online guide is available with ideas on how to use the book both at home and in the classroom. ( ) This book offers children the chance to explore how their positive actions have results that often reflect their positive choices. It can be used to help them understand why, how, and what they do. The illustrations provide a very self explanatory example of each action and the results. Each positive action is written with a unique font that catches the readers eye on each and every page. I like this book because it is about a who thinks about his behaviors. For example he is responsible because he helps his sister when she needs it. I think it is moral because the boy evaluates the different situations and uses different behaviors towards to solve the moral problems. ages: 4-7 source: personal collection aucune critique | ajouter une critique
