A story that picks up around 7 years from where book one left off. Wasn't expecting this story line, but the author did a good job once again of making this story seem very real and very heartbreaking at times. I loved the child, Jack, in this story and his interaction with everyone he met. This story once again reminds people of the deep consequences that one sin can bring upon so many people in so many ways. But it also shows the power of God to change lives, bring about forgiveness, heal, protect and bring good things together for good. ( )

Paula Wiseman has created a sequel that is just as engaging as the first book in this series. She uses Christian values to portray a family that is being torn apart by a mistake committed seven years ago.

Bobby has forgiven Chuck for his affair and they have patched up their marriage and are living a happy life. They discover that there was a child created when he strayed and now have to deal with the consequences of that mistake. Old feelings are dredge up and their marriage is on the pinnacle of becoming one of mistrust. The biggest problem is that now they have to deal with the mother of the illegitimate son.

I like how Paula Wiseman is able to fashion a story with real emotions and true to life circumstances. She does this well and is able to capture and retain the interest of her audience. As I reader I could empathize with the emotions of the characters. They are well portrayed and their situations are realistic.

This book deals once again with forgiveness and repentance. A huge emphasis is placed on the Savior, Jesus Christ, and his role in atoning for the sins of mankind. This is a book that will appeal to Christians and others who enjoy a great story.

I would recommend in a couple of places that you have access to a hankie or a box of tissues. ( )

Infidelity and temptation aren’t problems solely for the unsaved. This novel picks up after the restoration of a marriage that had dealt with these issues and sought out the help they needed to restore. I did not read book one in the series, Indemnity is the second book in the Covenant of Trust series, but was able to get the gist of what happened in book one. I do recommend reading the first one though to give you better than a ‘gist’! Chuck and Bobbi have moved on and found comfort again in each other and God when Chuck’s sin is thrown back at them once again. The ‘other woman’ Tracy shows up in town with a 1st grader that resembles Chuck! Talk about being thrown back under the bus. I felt so sad for Bobbi who sees this child Jack.
Lessons learned in the past in the positive are back in place as Chuck and Bobbi have friends come and counsel then, pray with them and give words of wisdom. I loved how they had such a network of help, but is seemed out of place to me not having read the first book. I thought it was strange to have Bobbi’s mother in law come and pray along with Bobbi’s sister, and a group of friends. I don’t know that many people have that network of love and support. Throughout the book though I felt that Chuck and Bobbi were certainly blessed by that community of Christians.
There is so much depth to this story, and forgiveness with the aid of Christ. Love can conquer even those things we think will end the relationship. I loved reading the second one in the series I can’t wait to see what the third holds. This is a great contemporary series to read to see God’s grace modeled and how it can impact the lives of so many.
I received a copy of this book from Pump Up your book in exchange for an honest review ( )

Two minutes. Wait two minutes before reading the results. She set the alarm on her wristwatch for five minutes, just to be sure, and left the bathroom.

“From the moment that woman walked through the doors of the law firm, she had your undivided attention. And now, here she is again, and you’ve dropped everything else to focus on her.” Bobbi
“You expect me to trust you with the one thing I’m most afraid of, and here you are flirting, literally, with disaster. I’m not overreacting.” Bobbi
“Your marriage survived.” Tracy coolly arched an eyebrow, and her mouth turned up ever so slightly at the corners. “And that is precisely why I chose Chuck.”
Jack was the only good thing in her life, the only thing she had ever done right, proof that she wasn’t totally messed up. She hoped.
