I read this book a few weeks after the passing of my beloved dog Foxy! It was a sweet book and I enjoyed reading it. It was a good reminder of how Foxy was always our protector. I would like to think she is somehow still protecting us. A little boy named Gus loses his beloved dog Ella. Before her death, the two promise to protect one another and Ella does just that when Gus gets some scary visitors on Halloween night. Ella calls all her dog friends to help chase the skeletons for their bones! This a great children's book for children to read after the passing of a beloved animal! I really liked this book, it's a really cute halloween book to read to students. I also think that some students would be able to relate to losing a pet, and I think seeing this might put their minds at ease that they can feel like their "pets are always with them." Even though their pets might not be here physically, if the pet is thought about they are here spiritually. I like that the boy and the dog also matched for halloween, overall the book was very cute. I enjoyed this book for a few reasons. First, I think the story is cute and could be relatable if a young child has lost their dog before. Second, I like this story because it is full of imagination, the illustrations are also great. The story is about a young boy, Gus, loses his beloved dog Ella. Thankfully before she passes, the two make a promise across life forms to always protect each other. So on halloween he gets a visit from who a ghost? Read to find out. Highly recommend this book! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"Ella and Gus had been friends for a long, long time..."
But one night Ella tells Gus she's old and won't be around much longer. "But no matter what happens, I'll always be with you....A promise made under a full moon cannot be broken." The two sit backlit by a huge white moon. On the next page, Ella is gone, and Gus doesn't feel like doing much, but he makes himself. When some skeletons gang up on Gus on Halloween, Ella comes to the rescue - and so do real live dogs (of whom the skeletons are terrified, because dogs loves bones). Ella reiterates her promise to Gus before disappearing again, but a few of the real live dogs - bones in mouths - follow gus home.
