Alicia Solano is a criminology professor. While working on her dissertation on serial killers she’s noticing that murders that are currently happening in her small town may have connections to past murders. She thinks it’s the work of a serial killer pair, instead of just one man. Gabe Cooper’s sister-in-law may have been a victim 12 years ago of one of these killers. Gabe teams up with Alicia to look into the information she’s gathered and he also offers his protection when she starts receiving threats against her.

This was an enjoyable romantic suspense story. Alicia and Gabe were likable characters and had good chemistry together. The suspense side of the story leaned more toward the investigation other than endless action. I liked the setting of the cozy college town. Not all of the mysteries were solved in this book since there is still a follow up book in this series which should answer any lingering questions. ( )

Alicia Solano is a criminology professor and serial killers aren't just academic to her. A real one is stalking her and it's quite possibly the same killer who brought Gabe Cooper to town. The long and lean Southern lawman/fisherman still blames himself for the unsolved murder of his sister-in-law and this time, he'll move heaven and earth to catch the killer--and keep Alicia alive and well.

The feisty professor is resistive to having him as her protector. Ignoring her protests, Gabe insists on moving in with her. With a traumatic past behind her, Gabe senses that it will be difficult for her to trust him and his motives, but it's worth it to him. Gabe knows better than most just how far this madman will go to get what he wants. And so will Gabe and what he wants is Alicia.

Another great Cooper Justice Cold Case Investigation. ( )

I belong to the Reader's Service book club and started receiving books from their Intrigue collection. Initially I put these aside, assuming they were not too good. I have to admit, I not only judged the book by it's cover I also judged it by its title. I was so wrong. This book was so unexpectedly good. In fact it was so good, I immediately went out to pull a listing of all the books by Paula Graves, the author, and to see if it was part of a series. It is, and I have downloaded all of the books that came before this one onto my Nook. At under $4 each, they are beyond a bargain. I highly recommend this series (Cooper Justice). ( )
