Great storyline that could easily be placed in any era however, the author did a great job and his research was excellent to pinpoint the tensions and societal changes of this very climatic time period. A great read for all! ( )

A friend who knows I like noir fiction told me about this book, so I bought it on her recommendation. It's a totally together crime novel about a guy who returns to his hometown of Key West after serving time in prison. When he gets there, he finds things are very different from when he left, and he soon finds himself framed for murder. The Key West of this novel wasn't at all what I'd expected...no sun, no margaritas...just a very dark story in a very believable setting. This is a great book and I'm looking for more from Mike Dennis. ( )

A quick easy read set in the wonderful Key West. I found myself not being able to put this book down. I wanted to continue on just to see what would happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fast moving crime novels. ( )

Don Roy Doyle is fresh out of prision and back home when his life takes a turn that could land him right back wher he came from. Can this con man really change his ways? Corrupt politicians, suspense, murder, setups this book has it all. This is a great story and a very quick read. ( )

Mike Dennis sets this dark story in Key West, a very unlikely setting for a noir novel. However, the combination of a strong sense of place and breathing characters facing tough odds makes for a great book. ( )
