PopArt, Andy Warhol, and his art style has never interested me one bit. This book was about the same. I didn't like the way the narrative flowed (or didn't flow). It felt like there were too many gaps, and I wasn't feeling the illustrative style. I didn't get the impression of someone interesting and famously fabulous. ( ) "Fabulous! A Portrait of Andy Warhol" is a picturebook biography of Andy Warhol. It maps his early sickly days during the 1930's in Pittsburgh. He was an avid comic book reader, which stemmed his interest in drawing. It follows him to college, and later in his path to becoming the iconic Pop Art Artist. It discusses his source of inspirations, and includes a more detailed timeline in the back of the book. I liked the basics of the book. The set up of the book is excellent. Warhol's life is divided into smaller segments. Each of these divisions gives interesting tidbit's of the Pop Artist's life. I found these segments easier to read, and seems logical for a younger reader. The illustrations are genuine to Warhol's style. The illustrations are a little harsh and vibrant to the eye, but I think serve the story well. At times, it is even almost like looking at some of Warhol's work. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
