Earthquake-prone stress include some of the densely populated regions in the world, such as Japan, the western United States, and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It has estimated that over 500 million persons could well suffer damage to their propery, while a signigicant proportion of them are in danger of losing their lives in severe earthquakes.
