A very unique book that looks at how the main character deals with her life literally showing up in her life. That seems a very odd statement but it's exactly the premise of the book. Lucy isn't living the life she'd like and she's constantly lying to those she cares about in order to cover up for her other past lies that were covering up for less than stellar events in her life. Then she gets a letter from Life ... and then another and another ... and she finally decides to meet with her life and what unfolds makes for a very entertaining tale. This book is filled with wonderfully written characters and interesting happenings and it might just make you look at how you might not be giving your life the attention it needs to flourish. ( ) An unusual and slightly surreal book involving a young woman whose life has become stressed in various ways, mainly due to a lie she told nearly three years earlier. The writing is good, the people believable, and the surreal quirk fits in surprisingly well to the otherwise 'normal' storyline. The plot is character-driven, and the outcome satisfying, if a tad predictable. It wasn't a book that grabbed me every moment, but a pleasant light read that was quite thought-provoking. It would make a great holiday read if you like women's fiction. HTML: Lucy Silchester keeps receiving this strange appointment card and sweeping its gold embossed envelope under the rug. Literally. She busies herself with a job she doesn't like, helping out friends, fixing her car, feeding her cat, and devoting her time to her family's dramas. But Lucy is about to find out that this is one appointment she can't miss, when Life shows up at her door, in the form of a sloppy but determined man. Life follows her everywhere â?? from the office, to the bar, and to her bedroom â?? and Lucy learns that some of the choices she has made and the stories she has told aren't what they seem. Now her half-truths are about to be revealed, unless Lucy tells the truth about what really matters to her. The Time of My Life is another warm, thought-provoking novel from Cecelia Ahern, internationally bestselling author of P.S. I Love You Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
