I’m changing my review so that it’s actually coherent and not just negative with no reasons given for my negativity. It’s been a long time since I read this now. But I remember being really annoyed because it was a catchy book and I couldn’t put it down but at the same time I REALLY wanted to put it down and just be free from it. I didn’t like it, it was cliché and tropey and annoying and the main character was a total “not like other girls” situation and only became beautiful once some guy told her she was. The plot devices were too obvious and convenient. It was not in a satisfying way at all. Overall I don’t recommend this book but I did get through it. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

HTML: The gripping first installment in New York Times bestselling author Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series. One touch is all it takes. One touch, and Juliette Ferrars can leave a fully grown man gasping for air. One touch, and she can kill. No one knows why Juliette has such incredible power. It feels like a curse, a burden that one person alone could never bear. But The Reestablishment sees it as a gift, sees her as an opportunity. An opportunity for a deadly weapon. Juliette has never fought for herself before. But when she's reunited with the one person who ever cared about her, she finds a strength she never knew she had. And don't miss Defy Me, the shocking fifth book in the Shatter Me series! .Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Aside from that, solid book, good start, captivating from the beginning, keeps you hooked. Has a bit of a fan fiction vibe to it, which isn't necessarily bad, if that's what you're into.
I feel like the pacing is a bit weird and the ending feels rushed. The whole time I didn't know what anything looked like, because the descriptions were quite short, which I usually appreciate, but somehow it didn't work for me here. ( )
