In Angel Lost, seventh in F. M. Meredith's Rocky Bluff Police Department series--a cross between The Waltons and Hill Street Blues...Detective Doug Milligan is set to marry Officer Stacey Wilbur. As their wedding day approaches, he is unhappy...about her assignment to jog the beach in hopes of catching a pervert who has been exposing himself to women. Abel Navarro's mother is showing signs of Alzheimer's, the new transfer from LAPD has a problem that won't be solved merely by transferring to a small town, and a reflection on a plate glass window downtown is seen by some as a sign from God because it appears to be an angel. Just as things seem to be coming to a head, a serial kidnapper -- and perhaps murderer -- who has been working his way south from Oregon, shows up... Award winning author F.M. Meredith, also known as Marilyn Meredith, is the author of nearly thirty published novels. F. M. has been neighbors with and has many relatives who are in law enforcement, and for many years lived in a beach community with a strong resemblance to Rocky Bluff. Marilyn is a member of EPIC, Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and on the board of the Public Safety Writers of America. The story covers several days in the life of the Rocky Bluff police department. ( )

“Angel Lost” is a quick-read, feel-good story with no surprises in its all-too-predictable plot. Nevertheless, it’s a leave-the-reader smiling story of a police department, a small seaside town filled with people that care about each other, and a mysterious appearance at the downtown furniture store.

But even towns as small as Rocky Bluff have their perverts, their thieves, and their kidnappers. Thank goodness they also have a wonderful guardian angel . . . . ( )

I am so sad! Not with the author or the novel itself, but with the fact that it's the 7th book in the Rocky Bluff PD series, but the FIRST one for me. F.M. Meredith has got some rockin' skills. There were some errors in the book but it was only due to it being an ARC copy. But, pushing through the errors and looking instead to the quality of the plot line, and the great characters, I found I really liked this book.

Set in Rocky Bluff, California Officer Stacy Wilbur is the head of the Vice squad. Two weeks away from marrying Doug, who happens to be her superior, the town is faced with a mysterious crime: there's a "flasher" on the loose. A man who preys on women when they jog. So, to try and solve the crime, Officer Wilbur offers herself up as a decoy to try and lure the flasher out to her and then arrest him. Now, faced with trying to solve the crime, along with the help of newbie transfer Vaughn Aragon, Stacy has no choice but to catch this guy. It could mean life or death, or a wedding that won't happen.

Mixed up with the crazy stress of the other department officers' lives, some recent home robberies and a mysterious angel that appears out of no where in a store side window, will Stacy Wilbur become lost before her wedding? Can theses circumstances and mysterious happenings be solved before time runs out?

The suspense of this book will keep the reader hooked. Turning the page to see what happens next is always a must and when you have to set the book down, it will stay will you as you think about trying to put the pieces together and solve the case, or in this case, cases.

I really enjoyed this novel and am going to make it a priority to go back and read the first 6 installments. Four stars, and high recommendations for a fast paced, crime filled novel that will draw you in, make you part of the team, and leave you hungry for more action! ( )
