From the beginning I could see the feelings of Davis towards Cam and knowing how much Cam loved him back in the day, I could see how these two should end up together. I did feel, though, that the actual progression was too forced. All of a sudden Davis is interested but it was never really explained why outside of seeing Cam flirt with another guy. It didn't seem natural. Also, for me, the ending was closed (you know how it ends) but I would have loved the story to be a little bit longer with some beef about HOW it really worked. ( ) I liked the idea of this and I really liked Cam. Unfortunately, I thought Davis was an asshole and I ended up wanting Cam to walk away from his indecisive, selfish ass. Cam has loved Davis from the moment he knew what love was. Davis turned him down and, from that minute on, expected Davis to constantly prove his friendship by giving in to his every demand. When Davis decides that he does want Cam, Cam has to drop everything to come and be with him. Davis does some impressive - and slightly repetitive - begging without once really coming across as honestly in love with Cam. He just doesn't want anyone else to have him. Cam does get an I love you in the last lines of the story but, by then, Davis is pretty irredeemable for me. I love the trope of friends turning into lovers, as well as reconnection stories and this was both, but I wasn't rooting for the MCs in the end. However, Cam held my interest and I connected to him very quickly. (He was the POV character, though. Perhaps I would have liked Davis more if this had been from his POV instead.)
