Based on the author's true life adoption of 2 little girls from China. A great story of about siblings -- eldest child very much wants to be a big sister. ( ) A little girl love playing pretend with her family. She pretends that she has a little sister, and likes to pretend different family members are babies. When her mom finally brings home her sister she realizes it not all she thought it was going to be. After a while she beings to love being able to teach her little sister how to do things. They grow an unbreakable bond. This book proved to be very well written and very comforting. I have always been the oldest in the house and remember in my younger years asking my parents for my little sister. I feel that this book could be given as a gift to a little girl who will be a new sister. I appreciate the very colorful and complex illustrations that show off details that the reader can make note of such as facial expressions and feelings that can be lost in the reading. The sibling dynamic depicted in this book is heartwarming. The journey starts with a young girl dreaming of a little sister and quite quickly her wish comes true. The young girl goes through feelings of jealousy when her little sister first gets home but that quickly fades. Their bond is strong and through the illustration you can see the love between them. I also enjoyed the quick progression of the story. As with life, the children grow in the blink of an eye. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
