not really an HEA but there was some things happily resolved, Druids of the light vs Dark mages and a vampire seeking help, all the while trying to escape the dungeon… busy busy

Karen Chance delivered an excellent, free short story for her series with Kit Marlowe and a witch back in the past. It's not as short as most shorts and is divided into chapters. I loved Sarah and all the characters. Kit was never that interesting to me but I don't think I read the books with him featured much so that could be why; he was very likeable here. The humor was present and action, while there, was not overwhelming like some of the novels. If you like Karen Chance's work you should love this short story. ( )

I happened upon this after starting one of Karen's short stories in the anthology "Inked". I was actually trying to figure out the timeline of what I was reading and the author's website had this fabulous flow chart with this novella at the starting point.

I'm totally intrigued with this series! I've already downloaded the second pre-novella and plan to read it later tonight before looking into the other books. Great way to start a series (even though it's not officially the start of the series). ( )
