Just as amazing as the first book in this series (Honeybone), this second volume held me spellbound - but for somewhat different reasons.

Where the first volume focused on the serial killer and Honeybone's determination/obsession to capture him, in this second book we find out a lot more about Honeybone's personal life. As a result, the threats he is presented with are also of a more personal nature.

The pace is as relentless as before. Events make it look as though the serial killer might have survived after all. Frankly, I'm still not sure that he's dead, even if the bad guy in this book turns out not to have been him. Kaia, the girl Honeybone saved from dying when their plane crashed, is as delightful as ever and plays an increasingly important role in Honeybone and his lover Jean-Luc's lives. As for the ex-lover Rongo who seems to want to give their relationship another go - you'll have to read the book to find out. All I'll say is that I was never as disgusted with him as in this installment of the story!

The descriptions of New Orleans were brilliant. I grew to love the characters even more and I can't wait to read the third book. I can only recommend you read this series to see for yourself! ( )
