( ) Another book I bought solely based on the cover. I really should start reading the backs of books. But lucky for me, this one was okay. Who knew a book about trolls would be good. I found it interesting. It was different. Another part to the fantasy world and I was happy I found it. It follows the new life of a teen. Running and fighting and becoming a princess! Scandalous makeup sessions and a marriage to a gay man. Oh my! It was pretty funny and entertaining. They only thing I didn't like, was teen pregnancy and how okay it seemed. How everyone just accepted it. I know it happens, but it shouldn't be glorified in books. This book seemed to move a little slower than the first one. Overall, though, it was a pretty good in-betweener—Wendy grows a lot and the stage is set for a grand finale. And thankfully, the Twilight comparisons went down. Except for one thing: Loki. The Loki-Wendy love affair felt so forced to me, like its only purpose was to divide the fans into two teams: Team Finn and Team Loki. I think we've had enough with that by now. I so wanted to love this book, but I just didn't. I just liked it. The first book was really fantastic, so I was all geared for something amazing. The curse of the second book I guess. The back story with her dad/the Vittra was super interesting. I liked that Matt and Tove were more present. I liked getting to know those characters, but the Finn situation got old fast. He's near. I'm sad. He's far. I'm sad. Boo hoo. It made me like Wendy a lot less. So much whining! Still, not enough to deter me from reading the third book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
