Summary:
This is a book about an African American boy who describes how he feels each day and his family life by colors. It has a very nice rhythm feel and also seems like a poem.

My Reaction:
This would be a good way to have children who are young learn to describe the way they are feeling.

Classroom Extensions:
1. I think this would be a good book to read after the kids have a bad day. A lot of children don't know or aren't allowed to express their feelings.
2. You could also read this and then have the children color a picture of themselves or a family member and color them like the boy described his family.
