( ) - Age: End of intermediate to middle school - About a girl and her family who moved from Vietnam during the Vietnam war. Her story about how she ended up in Alabama and what it was like to start school in the U.S and learn english. - I would use it in my classroom as it is about a different culture and experiences to help us gain perspective. It is written in free verse poetry which made it an easy read. I think this book is for the intermediate to middle school level students. The book is about a little girl names Ha fleeing Vietnam with her family during the war and learning how to adjust to her new life in America. It is a struggle for them because people judge her and her family and she is also trying to learn English. I really enjoyed this book. Follow the narration of a young girl living through hardship with her family during a war in Vietnam. I think this would be a great read along or book to introduce was new chapter book reader (intermediate). Great way to read about another perspective and culture then ours. Small amount of text on each page which is great. Contient un guide pour l'enseignantPrix et récompensesDistinctionsListes notables
