This book explains the journey the penguins depart on every year to find their mate, how the penguins raise their chicks, and how they survive the harsh winter season in the Arctic. The text was easy to read, and very engaging. For example, "They will bound out of the water, they will march, and they will spend the winter huddled together..." This was a great informational book supported by awesome pictures, I definitely enjoyed reading it! The central message of this book is information about the incredible journey penguins embark to find their mate and survive the harsh winters. Along with the incredible photographs and beautiful narration, this book provided great information and still is very engaging. Although certainly no substitute for seeing the film, this companion book includes gorgeous photos, most especially of the forms and colors of Antarctic ice. I had read that the blues of the ice include shades seen nowhere else, and the photos included here took my breath away. One example can be seen in the first picture here: http://enticingthelight.com/2009/03/14/great-nature-photography-found-inmarch-of... I love animals and this book was the perfect tool to teaching kids the mating and the birth penguins. this book was about the mating and the birth and life of the emporer penguin. classroom ideas: 1)have the students do research on other artic animals 2)have the students do reasearch and comparison on the life and mating of emporer penguins to another species of penguins. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

When summer nears its end in Antarctica, emperor penguins bound out of the water and gather together to begin a long march. They march to their nesting ground 100 miles away. When they arrive, each penguin chooses a mate and starts a family. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
